The Lincoln Leapers Jump Rope Team has attained Regional, Provincial, National and World Championship Titles throughout its competitive history.
In the 2007-08 competitive season, the Lincoln Leapers had three teams with first place overall finishes at the Regional Level, and two first place overall team finishes at both the Provincial and the National level. Our youngest team achieved two national records in the double dutch speed events at the 2008 Canadian National Jump Rope Competition!
The Lincoln Leapers’ senior team qualified for the FISAC World Championships and traveled to Cape Town, South Africa to compete as part of Team Canada in July. This team achieved many personal bests in the team speed events and had top five place finishes in team freestyle events and a 4th place finish in individual freestyle. The team placed 13th overall in this world competition.
Six other Lincoln Leaper team members qualified to compete as members of Team Canada in the AAU Junior Olympics in Detroit Michigan in July. These competitors came home with an overall Gold Medal in the 13-14 year old Pairs competition, an overall Silver Medal in the 13-14 year old Individual competition and several other top ten finishes in individual, pairs and team events in both 12 and under and 13-14 year old age categories.
